Andrew Brunker wins Scott Officiating Award Photo: IHNSW President Tim McMahon presents the Scott Officiating Award to Andrew
Brunker. For the second year, Jeffrey Scott has generously sponsored the Scott Officiating Award for a first-year junior referee displaying
outstanding 'Dedication, Effort and Perseverance Throughout the Season'. The Award, comprising a $1000 cash prize and crystal trophy, for 2008
has been presented to Andrew Brunker of the Liverpool Club. Andrew started playing hockey with the LCC Saints as a Bantam in 2006 and commenced lining last year whilst still playing Bantam. In
2008 however, he quit playing to concentrate on officiating, gained his Level I Referee accreditation, has refereed Minor League games
throughout the season and towards the end, commenced lining ECSL and worked both Grand Finals. In his own words, Andrew 'has been fortunate to have gained his skills through the guidance and support given to him by quite a few
dedicated and experienced officials'. It is interesting to note that the winner of the inaugural award was also a Liverpool member. Congratulations Andrew and
congratulations Liverpool. |
